Founded in 2020 by Ron Canimo, Mga Tala at Tula began as a blog during the pandemic and has since grown into a community of over 1.3 million readers. With five published books and ongoing workshops and events, we continue to nurture voices and remind people of the healing power of words.

About the Founder-Author.

Ron Canimo is the founder of Mga Tala at Tula and a 21st-century poet whose works on love, resilience, and social realities have reached millions of readers. An award-winning writer and community builder, he has authored five poetry books and continues to champion Filipino literature through publishing, workshops, and events that inspire healing and connection.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Bulacan State University, his Master’s in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines – Diliman, and completed a short course in Creative Writing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Iowa as a fellow. He is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Creative Writing at the University of Santo Tomas.

At his core, Ron believes that words—like stars—can guide us through darkness. Through poetry, publishing, and community work, he continues to inspire others to embrace the beauty of language and the quiet power of stories to change lives.
